Research for Main task

The music genre of Q is mainstream as it has many different genres included, this conveys that the target audience in 20 years old on towards however it is not particularly focusing on a niche market it is wide spread target audience.
The main image is of Madonna this relates to the magazine as Q has an interview with her. The image is a medium close the image suggest that Madonna is going to tell something exclusive to the audience, Madonna is wearing a hooded top this suggest that her target audience is for both the younger and older audience. The Mise en Scene is plain black background however this contrasts with the red and white which makes it look more dramatic. Eye catching and stylish.
Q is Britain's biggest music magazine this shows the audience how popular and well known Q is, this is also shown through how the Brand name is partly covered.
This magazine follows the conventions of using no more than three colours the colours used are very eye-catching and striking this of which makes the audience more attracted to buy the magazine. The typography is straight cut which gives a more elegant look to the magazine.
The strap line “Michael Stipe, Russell Brand…..all interview Madonna” this is quite unusual as you don’t normally get famous people interviewing famous person this of which would be the selling point of Q magazine.
Furthermore the fact that they have all those famous people in the magazine suggest that Q is popular also that the target audience is wide spread as there are different music genres included in the magazine which appeal to different sorts of people.
